三、核心测试项目
1. 电气安全测试(针对电能危险)
(1)能量源防护与防触电
Insulation protection test span>:
Basic insulation: The insulation between live parts and accessible metal parts (such as the insulation layer inside the power supply casing) must pass a withstand voltage test (such as 1500V AC for 1 minute without breakdown);
Strengthen insulation/double insulation: higher safety level insulation (such as the outer shell of an external power supply), higher voltage withstand test requirements (such as 3000V AC for 1 minute).
Grounding continuity test (for Class I equipment with grounded power supply): The resistance between the grounding wire and the grounding terminal is ≤ 0.1 Ω, ensuring that the current can be released through the ground wire in case of a fault.
(2)电路安全与保护
Short circuit protection test: Simulate a short circuit at the output terminal (such as accidental connection of positive and negative poles), test whether the power supply can quickly cut off the output (such as through fuses or current limiting chips), and whether it is not damaged (such as no fire or explosion).
Overload protection test: When the output current exceeds the rated value (such as 1.25 times), the power supply needs to be protected by current limiting, hiccup mode, or shutdown to avoid overheating.
Overvoltage/undervoltage protection test: Input电压异常(如高于 140V 或低于 85V)时,电源需停止工作或进入保护状态,防止损坏后端设备。
2. 热能危险防护测试
Thermal abuse test: Simulate poor heat dissipation (such as covering with fabric) or high environmental temperature (such as 40 ℃ room temperature) to test whether the power supply can still operate stably without the risk of overheating and fire.
3. 机械与结构安全测试
Anti contact test: Test the accessible area using a probe (simulating a finger or tool) to ensure that live parts (such as internal solder joints, exposed wires) cannot be touched, especially in scenarios where children can access them (such as the interface of an external charger).
Structural strength testing span>:
Shell impact test: Use a specified weight (such as 1kg) to impact the power supply shell from a specific height (such as 1m) without cracking or exposing internal components;
Plug/Interface Strength: After inserting and unplugging the plug 1000 times, the pins remain unchanged.
; The output interface (such as USB) does not detach when subjected to tensile force (such as 15N).Small component testing: Removable small components on the power supply (such as decorative parts and screws) must pass the "Child Swallowing Test" (components with a diameter<31.75mm must be resistant to swallowing to avoid the risk of suffocation).
4. 环境耐受性测试
Humidity test: After being placed in an environment with 95% relative humidity and 40 ℃ for 48 hours, retest the insulation resistance and withstand voltage performance to ensure no leakage in a humid environment.
Liquid protection test (for specific scenarios): For example, the desktop power supply needs to pass the "splash test" (no short circuit after a small amount of water splash); The outdoor power supply needs to pass the IPX4 waterproof test (with all-round water spray and no damage).
5. Fire and flame retardant testing span>
Shell: At least V-1 level (self extinguishing within 30 seconds after removing the open flame, no dripping ignites the cotton below);
Internal key components (such as plastic near the heat source): need to reach V-0 level (self extinguishing within 10 seconds).
Hot wire test: Contact the surface of the insulation material with a hot wire (960 ℃), and the material will not ignite or continue to burn, avoiding fires caused by component overheating.
6. 特殊场景与故障条件测试
单一故障测试:模拟关键元件失效(如保险丝熔断、电容短路、二极管击穿),测试电源是否仍能避免危险(如无带电部件暴露、无过热起火)。
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) related safety: Although UL62368 does not directly cover EMC, the power supply must avoid self failure due to electromagnetic interference (such as overheating caused by high-frequency noise).
四、标识与文档要求
UL Certification Mark (UL Listed);
Rated input (such as "100-240V~50/60Hz"), rated output (such as "12V 3A");
Safety level (such as "Class II" indicating double insulation and no need for grounding);
Warning statements (such as "Indoor Use Only" and "Do Not Disseminate");
Manufacturer/supplier information.
Instruction manual: It should include installation instructions (such as prohibiting modification), usage restrictions (such as ambient temperature range), and troubleshooting (such as immediately turning off the power when smoking).
五、认证流程与工厂要求
产品测试:提交样品至 UL 认可实验室,完成上述测试项目;
Factory audit: UL engineers inspect the quality control system of the production factory (such as raw material inspection, finished product testing records) to ensure that the production process can stably replicate compliant products;
Post certification supervision: UL conducts factory visits every quarter/six months, randomly checks the consistency between products and test samples, and ensures continuous compliance.
