一、LFGB 的核心定位与适用范围
1. 有害物质迁移限制
Specific Migration Test: Targeting specific substances known to be harmful, such as heavy metals lead, cadmium, and mercury; Bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalates in plastics; Nitrosamines in rubber are restricted in their migration amount (such as the migration limit for lead being 0.01mg/kg).
2. 感官特性要求
3. 禁止使用的有害物质
Ceramics/Glass: Focus on testing the leaching of heavy metals such as lead and cadmium (especially colored glaze surfaces);
Wood/bamboo products: limit the residue of preservatives and insecticides;
Silicone products: Test for volatile substances and residual monomers (such as siloxanes).
三、LFGB 认证流程
Select accredited laboratory: Testing must be conducted by a laboratory accredited by Germany (such as T Ü V Rheinland, SGS Germany, Intertek Germany, etc.), and the laboratory must have DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 qualifications.
Sample testing: Conduct comprehensive migration, specific migration, sensory testing, and other tests based on material type and usage conditions (such as testing comprehensive migration+BPA migration+sensory for plastic tableware).
Market Access: Products holding compliance reports can enter the German and EU markets without official registration, but the reports need to be archived for future reference (German regulatory agencies may conduct spot checks).
Regional: To enter the German market, both EU regulations and LFGB (or at least LFGB as a baseline) must be met; Other EU countries may accept products that comply with EU regulations, but the German market prefers LFGB.
五、注意事项
Material changes require retesting: If the product formula, production process, or raw material supplier changes, retesting is necessary to ensure compliance.
Labeling standard: LFGB does not require specific labeling, but many companies will label their products with "compliant with LFGB" or the commonly used "knife and fork logo" in Germany (non statutory, but a market recognized compliance signal).
